In The Forest

Voices so nice in the foggy air. It makes me sigh so lightly.
I listen to the voices again. The night bringing more and more animals.
While I'm falling asleep chipmunks cuddle close to my cheeks.
Birds nest along my jacket. Foxes on either side of me.
Raccoons on my legs and rabbits upon my feet.
They, sleeping make a rhythm to make a song to make me sleep, into a deep... deep sleep.
Dreaming of God. I think of how He made animals so gracious, yet so ferocious.
I then wake with the animals to see a beautiful sunrise.
The sky being blue, purple, pink and orange. The mountains are lavender.
Following the animals to a clearing then the fox, the rabbit and chipmunk go and come back with a feast.
I take and eat. What I give is love and kindness. The rest they get from God.
All they need from Him, the know they already have. I take them all in my arms and put them back and wander to a bridge where the flowing of water is softly rustling down the rivers path.
I take a leaf and a stick and put them in the water. it flows on and on, when I don't see it, I rejoice and praise the Lord for all that is on earth in the forest.
That the river running on end. I take my hands and drink the water at my feet.
Knowing no other home than the forest. The animals, my only family. Loving that as if they were.
